Wednesday, December 6th is a big night at KMS, and you won't want to miss this DOUBLE EVENT!
FAMILY NIGHT: Featuring English, Math and Social Studies
5:30 - 7:00 PM in the Library: Holiday Activities, Display of Student Work, and Food!
6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Cafeteria: Families can come make ornaments to take home! Light refreshments will also be served.

Emerging technologies like Web 2.0 and social networking sites are altering the ways we communicate and changing our ideas of privacy. Adolescents, teens and adults can benefit from a frank discussion about the characteristics of the Internet, emerging technologies, and the unintended consequences of their online behavior. The “Hidden Exam” looks at the culture of branding through a historic lens, examines how modern tools create permanent marks in virtual space and explores how online content reveal student competence, character, and social capital. The “Hidden Exam” then explores how these traits of the Internet are seen by college admissions offices and potentially impact college admissions.

Parent, Teacher & Student Conferences

Conferences are happening in the Library from November 20th through December 1st. Students will be released from school early at 1:15 PM.

Kauai Day of Bullying Prevention

Wear purple in support of a bully-free school and community on Monday, October 2nd. School uniforms (shirts and IDs are still required), but you can show support with purple accessories such as socks, bracelets, pants, shorts, and ribbons.

Everyone has a role to play in bullying prevention and response, and to promote a culture of respect, responsibility and resiliency. All students should understand that bullying is not acceptable.

IMPORTANT! Bus Route Changes

An unexpected crisis relating to a shortage of qualified school bus drivers and bus aides has caused the HIDOE to take drastic measures to protect student health and safety. The following special procedures for Eleele Elementary, Waimea Canyon Middle, Waimea High, Kapaa El, Kapaa Middle and Kapaa High Schools shall take effect on Monday, August 7, 2017 and continue until the driver and aide circumstances change.
